About me
Welcome to my academic portfolio. My name is Michael Bobroff and I am History major in the Single-Subject Certification program and graduated in May 2023. I am currently attending San Diego State University where I am working towards earning my California Single-Subject teacher credential with the Project-Based Learning cohort. My current teaching assignment is at a Middle School and my Guide Teacher has allowed me to teach his 7th-grade World History classes.
The image above is a view of Mt. Vesuvius, from a view on top of Monte di Procida, in the Naples area, in Italy. I lived in Naples for 10 years (1980 to 1990), and at Rota, Spain for five years. I was lucky enough to live in these two nations as my father was in the United States Navy. It is from living in these two nations that I can empathize with children of active duty military families and the difficulties they face in their education.
Reflection on my first semester as a teacher-candidate.
I am enjoying teaching my students and in learning from my guide teacher. I have learned a lot from my first semester of teaching and from my experiences I am adjusting my teaching methods. As an additional adjustment, I will begin improving my communication methods with parents and guardians, so as to improve student outcomes.
